There are not that many hotels on Grand Cayman, but there are some excellent options available.
Here is a selection that should cater to a variety of budgets and interests:
1. The Ritz-Carlton, Grand Cayman
The Ritz Carlton is a very expensive top-end, hotel. It’s situated on Grand Cayman’s Seven Mile Beach, just 1.9 miles from George Town.
It’s not going to be an option for budget travelers. However, those who don’t mind paying more for the ultimate Cayman Island experience won’t find a better option than the Ritz Carlton.
As you’d expect from a Grand Cayman world-class hotel, the Ritz Carlton has an outdoor pool and tennis court for guests to enjoy. There’s also a spa and wellness center, some on-site shops, a hot tub, and concierge services.
Additional amenities offered by this AAA Five Diamond Award-winning hotel include a bar, snack bar, and restaurant.
All guest rooms at The Ritz-Carlton have air-conditioning and excellent WiFi. Other important features include terraces, work desks, seating areas, and private bathrooms with free toiletries.
2. Kimpton Seafire Resort & Spa
Another top-end hotel that’s good for travelers who demand the best and don’t mind paying for it. Like the Ritz Carlton, the Kimpton Seafire stands on Grand Cayman’s popular Seven Mile Beach.
Important on-site facilities include the spa and fitness center, a year-round outdoor pool, and a sun terrace.
Guests also have plenty of options for pampering their taste-buds. The Kimpton Seafire has three on-site restaurants including a beachfront bar and grill. Guests who wish to do so can also reserve their own private dining venue.
Every room has a private bathroom with free robes and toiletries. Some rooms also have a seating area for relaxing after a busy day soaking up the Caribbean sun on the resort’s private beach.
Flat screen cable TV and iPod docking stations are also available and more active guests can explore the island by using one of the Kimpton Seafire’s free bicycles.
3. The Westin Grand Cayman Seven Mile Beach Resort & Spa
The Westin hotel is also situated on the shores of the Seven Mile Beach. It’s a popular option with travelers looking for mid-range accommodation on Grand Cayman.
For gastronomes, the Westin may be a particularly enticing option. It boasts several restaurants, bars, and lounges including the AAA 4 Diamond Award-winning Beach House.
Beach House diners can enjoy the best in creative coastal cuisine while enjoying spectacular views of white shores and sea.
Guests at the Westin, Grand Cayman also have the opportunity to relax at the on-site spa, beside the pool, or in one of the Westin’s luxury beach cabanas.
All rooms have a private balcony or patio, a marble bath, mini-fridge, and flat-screen TV. Children’s activities and services are available via the Westin Kids Club and the diving lessons and opportunities available at the resort’s diving center are sure to go down well with water lovers.
4. Grand Cayman Marriott Beach Resort
Another mid-range Grand Cayman hotel and my personal favorite. Like most of the best hotels in Grand Cayman, the Marriott is on Seven Mile Beach.
The facilities at the Marriott are first-rate. Among other things, there’s a large beachside pool and a spa.
Guests also have free use of all the weights and cardiovascular equipment in the hotel’s fitness center.
All the rooms at the Marriott offer a relaxing beach house feel and private balconies. The en-suite marble bathrooms come with complimentary bathrobes, slippers, and toiletries.
Other home comforts include flat screen TVs, coffee makers, and refrigerators. For guests in need of extra pampering, the Marriott also offers a full massage service at its La Mer Spa.
On-site dining options include the Veranda, Den, the Vista Bar, and the Anchor & Bar Lounge.
Each one has it’s own unique ambiance and charm and the Veranda, situated on the edge of the beach, has established itself as one of the most popular restaurants on the island.
5. Sunshine Suites Resort
Traveling on a budget? Sunshine Suites is an excellent choice. Although it doesn’t stand on Seven Mile Beach, it’s only 200 m away.
Sunshine Suites offers the ideal combination of elegant accommodation and value for money. It has free WiFi and an outdoor pool. There’s also a free continental breakfast included in the price and washing machines are available for guests to use.
All the suites and studios have a fully-equipped kitchen. So, if you prefer a self-catering holiday, Sunshine Suites offers a doable option.
However, guests who prefer to eat out some or all of the time will find a choice of local and international cuisine at the resort’s Sunshine Grill restaurant.
The Sunshine Grill is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. It also offers an extensive cocktail list. So, if you want to enjoy a liquid lunch with plenty of variety, Sunshine Suites provides some good options.
6. Comfort Suites Seven Mile Beach

Comfort Suites is another perfect option for budget travelers who want to holiday in style without paying the earth.
Again, although this popular Grand Cayman hotel doesn’t stand on the Seven Mile Beach, it’s only a short 2-minute walk away.
As you would expect from any good Grand Cayman resort, Comfort Suites has an excellent outdoor pool. There’s also a hot tub and a professional dive shop.
All rooms have air-conditioning and a kitchen or kitchenette that provides a fridge, microwave, and toaster.
Other home comforts include flat-screen satellite TV and a telephone with voicemail. So, if an important call comes in while you’re making a big splash in the pool, you can always callback later.
Eating options at Comfort Suites are a little more limited than those provided by the top resorts. However, the onsite restaurant offers a good variety of local an international cuisine including pasta and salads.
If you choose to stay at Comfort Suites, you can expect a free Breakfast and room service is available upon request.
7. Sunset House
Sunset House is a highly specialist hotel run for divers by divers. It’s situated to the west of George Town on Sunset Cove.
If you’ve ever spent time dreaming of that perfect Caribbean scuba-diving or snorkeling vacation, Sunset House is the ideal place to go.
All the rooms have a balcony that offers an excellent view of the sea and the en-suite bathrooms have a tub, a shower, and towels.
Additional features include ceiling fans, direct-dial telephones, microwaves, and refrigerators. Guests can also make use of in-room safes or safety deposit boxes.
Guests at Sunset House have two main dining options.
My Bar is a huge, open-sided, thatched-roof cabana situated on the water’s edge. The nearby Sea Harvest Restaurant offers a fully air-conditioned dining area, along with a spacious outdoor patio for eating al-fresco.
Needless to say, Sunset House also offers a number of dive packages and courses and all boats are staffed by highly experienced instructors who are committed to providing the ultimate Caribbean diving vacation.
